Description:

As practicing dentists, we’re faced daily with the challenges of root canal system anatomy and the need to disinfect and debride complex systems that stretch beyond what we’re able to visualize.

Furthermore, achieving a potential goal of maximizing disinfection and debridement with minimal shaping and dentin removal, has amplified our challenges despite our best efforts. Over time, we’ve seen the evolution of tools and technologies to aid in this cause, from passive to active irrigation methods, and we are now poised to embrace the next paradigm shift in active RCS disinfection and the preservation of more natural tooth structure: the GentleWave Procedure from Sonendo.

This immersive GentleWave bootcamp course will introduce you to this revolutionary technology and procedure, and give you the opportunity to both observe a live in vivo demonstration of the GentleWave procedure for both live and virtual attendees, as well as utilize the GentleWave System hands-on, with the aid of a Zeiss clinical dental microscope and an extracted tooth for the live participants.

Course Objectives:

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Review methods of pulpal, apical, and periradicular diagnoses

  • Examine standardization in root canal therapy protocols to include use of rubber dams, the GentleWave Procedure, files, sealer, and other instrumentation

  • Learn innovative techniques in root canal therapy using advancements in technology: The GentleWave System, dental microscopes and CBCT

  • Understand how to create a one-day treatment workflow for RCT, which includes:

    • evaluation

    • diagnosis

    • anesthesia

    • appropriate isolation techniques

    • treatment

    • restoration

  • Discuss best practices and options for single visit, non-surgical retreatment

  • Review the economic impact of implementing a one visit model into your practice, and evaluate the benefits of this model to the clinician, the staff, and the patient

  • Apply learnings in a hands-on lab experience
